March 22, 2022

The Johnson County Historical Society hosted 200 first graders, teachers and parents from Ridgeview Elementary School in Warrensburg. This was the students first field trip, and they had a tour and presentation in the historic Courthouse, the old Elm Schoolhouse and the Smiser Heritage Library and Museum given by presenters in costume.

Board member and longtime loyal volunteer Bill Wayne shares our past with the students. Bill recently donated $5000 to the historical society to restore the windows on the historic Court house and the Elm Schoolhouse. Thank you, Bill, for the donations, and all your service throughout the years.
